I own a 1994 s10 blazer.Vortech,100,000 miles, electronic 4 wheel drive.I couldnt get the encoder motor to engage at all. I worked on for a bit.Now it will go into 4lo but not 4 hi.I can only put into 4lo when it is in reverse. But the switch flashes both lights when i try to put it in 4hi.I thought the encoder motor might be bad,but my thought is if it an electric motor would it not work at all? I was in the process of pulling the motor off but i loosened the 3 bolts that hold it on and it started leaking fluid. Is this normal? I found an encoder motor for a resonable price online. Will this cure my problem? Its my wifes work car and i am trying to get this done  ASAP! Thank you.

Make sure when you are manually pulling your cable that you have already pushed your 4Hi or 4Lo button, then pull the cable.

Lock the cable in place and then drive in some wet grass and punch it hard.  See if the front wheels spin or not.
