Anyone here Ice Fish at all?

I love to Ice fish but havent caught much lately. It has been very slow around here for the past few years.  Ive been going out every weekend for the past 3 weeks.  Caught a few Perch 1 week ago.

Whats your set up?  I have a Frabill 2 man, Eskimo 2hp 8" auger, and a Vexilar FL-8se.  All of it barely fits in the Blazer.

I've always wanted to ice fish.  That means I would have to go somewhere to do it though.

If you want to catch some walleye or big perch than you need to go to the ice fishing capital of the world, Mille lacs lake in Minnesota!!!! Thats the lake I always went ice fishing and fishing at since I was old enough to hold a fishing pole!!!

I've never been ice fishing, I've never seen it done, but there was one time that I could walk out on my cousin's pond and fish if I had wanted too.

I do, just went last saturday morning.

I had a shapell shantee but it got tasted and im in the market for a 8060 clam trap.
I have a crap-load of tip ups all different kind, even two homemade ones.
I use 3 rods, all 28" two are from galyans w/ 1# test and my new Slick Ice is holding 4# test.

As far as lures and crap, way to many to list.

big perch= crap eating.

as far as 'eyes go, lake erie has the world beat with size and numbers.
However the northern mississippi holds some very large toothy fish.

these were taken in northwest Illinois about 15 minutes from the ol miss.
1, 3# walleye, 3, 4# largemouths and the rest are 1#+ bluegills.

This one was post ice last spring.

I cant bring myself to bring a 300+ dollar camera on the ice with me right now. Maybe when Im richer.

I dispise snowmobilers on ice. I lost 3 tip ups saturday morning due to them not paying attention and having no respect for others, kinda like ricers and guys with crotchrockets.  In a field sure crank the throttle and fly but not when others are around you.

I love to ride on lakes, but i dont usually go where there are many ice fishers, and if there are any, they shouldnt be in the middle of a snowmobile trail.

This wasnt a trailed channel, its just back waters that had no tracks on it and we've had snow on the ground for almost a month now and ice since the 1st week of december. The bad part is we were VERY visible due to the huts and the propane lanterns at the site we were jigging and on every tip up, the assholes never even turned around or stopped even after noticing they were dragging my gear behind em.  Like every hobby, you have good folks and less then disirable folks.

LOL, i know the lake.....sadly. Never been out on it though.

I remember i used to go out every year with my dad on our local lake in an ice house he built himself. It was nice, we had all the ammenities, crappy proane heater, buckets with the foam seat tops, 9" black and white TV (for the packer game, cant miss that), and a couple of tip ups. Man that brings back some memories. We never really caught a whole lot but it was a blast anyway.

never heard of that lake. Although Devils Lake is known for some good Ice Fishing Jumbo Perch.  There are big Walleyes there too but they are known for their Jumbo Perch.

im a pretty big ice fisher. go out basically religiously. got a frabill outback 3 man, and a frabill recon 1 man. plenty of tip ups. veriety of brands. one that i really liked this year is a windlass. it jiggs your bait with the wind. ive built a drill adaptor to hook up my drill to my auger. pretty slick.
