your car sounds exactly like mine and this is exactly what i'm trying to do with my blazer (minus the HP increasing). i spent only $500 but mine is a 242,xxx mi. vehicle lol, but still runs strong! to increase longevity, you can seafoam the motor to flush out everything (top end, injectors, TB, oil system). then, dump some Engine Restore in the oil to restore compression. after that, switch to synthetic to keep it running strong. make sure all fluids are properly changed at all times, and this will maximize performance, MPG and the overall life of the vehicle!
