RE: What gears do i have??? - 1/2/2008 5:04:56 PM    swartlkk Posts: 15276 Joined: 5/1/2005 From: Waterloo, NY Status: offline Hmm...  Well, other option would be to open up the rear diff and either count the teeth on the ring and pinion or the ratio may possibly be stamped on the ring gear...  If there is still any tags on the rear axle, you may be able to get the info from there as well, but I doubt that any of the factory identification tags would still be there... One other possibility is to jack up the rear end and put the transmission in neutral.  Mark one of the cups on the u-joint and put a mark on the front of the diff housing.  Then count how many turns of the driveshaft it takes to spin the tires 1 full turn (provided that both tires are spinning).  3.42 gears will require that the driveshaft spin 3.42 times for 1 revolution of the tires.  3.73 ratio == 3.73 turns of the driveshaft.  You get the picture. _____________________________ Kyle- 04 Rainier My Restoration Projects Please Do Not PM for Tech Help (in reply to B85s10blaze) Post #: 4
