Hi all,

I have a 2002 blazer with 78,668 miles on the engine, and this morning I noticed a slight pulling sensation towards the left when on the interstate going at about 65...

normally i would assume a tire, but this same issue also occurs when climbing... i'm not sure it's actually a pull (i suck at describing issues) all i really know is that at around 60-65 mph it feels like something is pulling slightly, which causes me to foot off the accelerator, and then re-apply to continue...

there are no censors turning on in the dash, car is running at less than 210 temp, which makes me think it's not the engine... but i have zero car knowledge, so i don't know.. hell, could it be bad gas?

any info is greatly appreciated!

Kinda sounds like you just need a front-end alignment

that would be nice... i seem to be the "death touch" for automobiles, and i just bought this one in december and i really like it, so i don't want it to turn to crap soon..

i go over these massive speedbumps everyday, so maybe it's possible... thanks again

Sounds to me like a tire, suspension, or alignment problem (or any combination of the above).

...and be sure to slow down before going over a speed bump.

haha i crawl over these speed bumps, but the problem is... half of them were cut off and then they placed another speed bump on top of them, making the height of 2 speed bumps, and they were made very thin, so it's like you climb and then just suddenly fall.. the whole bit

UPDATE:

Drove home from work today, still struggling to get over hills, and having a little trouble accelerating, not having trouble keeping speed once I hit like 60, but still experiencing a "pull" like sensation... kinda like when i accelerate it feels like im pulling back an elastic band, but i never get the feeling that it's going to snap back...

I'm still hoping it's an alignment deal... only worries me because my last vehicle (dodge stratus) experienced a similar issue that I spent over 1500 bucks on, before just buying a new vehicle. le sigh

Well now, this doesn't sound a thing like an alignment or suspension issue, but a powertrain problem instead.

just noticed also, there appears to be a water leak occuring right behind the right front tire... i wasn't able to confirm this last night because the ground was wet from rain, but i noticed this morning that the lower left corner of the mudflap behind my right front tire was wet, and last night there was a stream of water going from that particular area... im getting ready to call the mechanic at the dealership i bought the vehicle from.. blah, i have the worst luck with automobiles...

If it's a stream of water from that area, it sounds like a leak from a heater hose. If it's just an accumulation it could be condensation from the compressor operation if you've been using the defroster.

Next time you drive home, feel both front hubs, the center section of the wheels. Is one hotter then the other? Sounds to me like your pulling problem is either a wheel bearing or a brake caliper that is hanging up. that would also explain the drag getting up to speed.

As for the water behind the right tire. Typical, like pointed out above, condensation fromt eh a/c system. Your ac runs in the winter to control moisture in teh cab of the truck, keeps the windows fog free on the inside.

Yes, the A/C compressor runs when you are using any flavor of Defrost. Reasoning behind this was: Refrigerated air carries less moisture..... So far as I am concerned, if I have to run my deFROSTer, ALL The air is refrigerated..... Meh. Silly me.....

UPDATE:

I took the damn thing to the garage last Thursday, and had the mechanic look at what may be wrong, including taking it for a nice test drive in which it would climb, and all that stuff. The mechanic tells me that everything's fine. I take it, and the same problems are existing... however, this evening things seemed to be getting worse...

Now when I accelerate I hear a loud, deep sound on acceleration... and in stop and go driving, it is harder to come to a stop, and harder to re-accelerate, plus I still feel every little bump.

still no SES light, temperature at a cool 195. could this be a battery/alternator issue?

(i had the same issue with a dodge stratus, and ended up putting over 1000 into the vehicle before saying "screw it", and I've only had this vehicle a little over a month, so you can see where Im afraid of something bad happening.)

blah

1.Did you ride with the mechanic to see if the symptoms were showing themselves to you or not?
2."loud, deep sound" - can you tell the general area where the sound comes from?
3."harder to stop and accelerate" - have you checked the brakes?
4.This is not a battery/alternator issue.
