So I picked up a used set of 30X9.5-15 BFG All Terrains the other day.... Man are they ever awsome. Ive always got wicked feedback from customers with them, but I never tryed them. Ive always had crappy tires like Larado's or GY wrangler RS/A's.  And I never had a 4X4 long enought to actually put good tires on. Now ill never go with crappy tires again! Although I did get stuck 45 min after I put them on... 2 feet of snow(6"soft, 3"hard crust, then soft snow on top) and 6" of mud. Broke through the crust, barried in the mud, so I had to buy a shovel to get myself out. It was fun though.

I have a small expandable snow shovel that I got a few years ago, but I had to go buy a spade shovel to dig into the dirt & mud.

I prefer a military e-tool to tote around.
however if its just snow, I'll throw my regular snow shovel in teh back, couple scoops and I'm out.

I got a grain bin shovel in the back of my blazer for removing lots of snow if needed. Most of the time it is just used for digging others out, since I just flip the 4x4 on and away I go.

They are a extremely good tire for traction with winter/offroad conditions.  As far as the mileage goes they are not the best and do not have a manufacter warrenty anymore but still a solid tire, a bit on the loud side too but what can you expect from an A/T... Prolly my favirote A/T

YES!

Not loud for a truck tire, maybe loud compared to passenger tires.
Which warrenty did they drop?

Yes they are great tires. Not too loud for a truck tire, yes it decreased gas mileage about 1mpg unless inflated to like 38-40psi. I believe the warranty he is talking about is the treadlife warranty. Most tires come with 45,000-70,000 mile treadwear warranty. While the BFG AT's dont have this from the manufacturer, the local tire shop I went to will pro rate the tire based on mileage if a replacement is necessary.

Yes, I was talking about the treadlife warrenty.  They used to have a 60,000 mile manufactuer warrenty untill I think 1 or 2 years ago, not posative tho...  I used to work for Discount Tire for a few years part time and they wouldent even pro rate them because they got so many back over the years.  Either way, I think they are great along with what the others are saying.

Yeah as long as you make sure they are balanced properly, are properly inflated, rotate them every 5,000 miles or so, and don't peel out or stupid stuff like that, they should last a good 50,000 miles, at least that is what I have heard (I only have about 2,000 miles on mine and they look brand new other than the white lettering needing to get cleaned from brake dust).

I've had LT285/75R16 BFG A/T's on my K 1500 P/U for years. I also have P235/70R14 BFG T/A's on my '69 OHC-6 Firebird. I've had great service life from both sets of tires. I've heard complaints of tire noise from the LT A/T's but compared to what? IMO quiet to BFG M/T.

Tire selection for us vintage car owner is getting smaller because of the smaller rim (14") size. There is the repop market for the Bias-ply from Coker, but they have started re-popin' a red line in radial form. They cost a few body parts to get'em. It turns out these red lines are manufactured by BFG. The BFG T/A's are half the price of the red lines.
