I got my shackles in and I started to install them but things didnt go to well

So heres my questions...(I bought Jiggs shackles)

- one side is longer than the other...  ===|==  like that...which side goes up? the longer side right? or does it really not matter?

- also when installing, I lift from the frame to release the load on leafs...then just support the axle while removing the shackles?
I dont want to do this wrong and release the shackle when the load is still on the leaf and have to go to the emergency room/

-How do I remove the top bolts (2 door, 4x4 2000) ... Just reach up there? Or do i have to remove the gas tank?

- Also since it will be lifted 2 inchs does the driveshaft become a worry?

I have a 2001 2dr 4x4 and you can get the top shackle bolts out without dropping the gas tank. If anything you will only have to remove the plastic shroud around the gas tank. As for the driveshaft you have nothing to worry about,  it'll be fine. The shorter side of the shackle should go to the bottom. At least thats how I installed it according to my suspension lift instructions.

So why did you install shackles in the back if you can't crank the T-bars? Were you intentionally going for a high rear end look? Get some pics up soon.
