Hello everyone!

I'm new to the forums, and new to blazers/jimmy's...I've just purchased an '05 Jimmy, and finally get to pick it up from the dealership this saturday :)  I'll get some pictures up hopefully in the next day or two.

I'm pretty excited about this truck, since I've yet to see it (the manager is a friend of mine, an insists it's the perfect truck for me)...unfortunately I'm working in an isolated town in the middle of the yukon, so it's a 5 hour drive in to Whitehorse to pick it up.

I just had a quick question since i've been shopping for some parts now that I know I'm getting this truck...the LMC catalog ordering system allows me to select up to an '04 blazer, but only an '01 jimmy. Was there a large amount of changes between '01 and '05 that the parts wouldn't work for me? and aren't the blazer/jimmy pretty much twins with a badging and grille change?

any input would help :)

thanks guys,

-Yukon Medic

(ps - my vin comes up as an SLS on carfax, but he says the truck has an offroad package and rear spare, so i'm crossing my fingers that it's a ZR2 in disguise!)

*EDIT- Pics have arrived!

only differance is the grill headlights and badges, and the only changes between the 01-05 is the look of the headlights, pretty sure anyways.

Welcome to the forum, glad to have you!! As far as changes between the years there wasn't that much of a change in the last years of production, I would wait to see what you end up with first then cross reference the vehicle with others. Another thing is when you get it post up some pics and we as a forum can help you with any changes and differences in the years!!

Howdy yukonmedic from way down in Niagara

I am a Fire Chief ( DC ) and here is a true paramedic joke :

There are two medics that work together on my shift and they're both named Richard , one goes by Dick and the other likes to be called Richard but when they show up to lets say an MVC we all say " Here come the Paradicks"
( git it , I think its funny )

Hey welcome to the forum. Pretty much the only changes that I know of between the 01 and 05 years was the stylin of the headlights/the option for Factory HID Headlights. Otherwise probably the same truck. Post up some pics when you get it and we can help out from there. Glad to have ya.

I got the pics!!! I'm pumped now, because it's definitely a ZR2 and not the SLS like carfax said...looks like someone tossed some decals on it, but there doesn't seem to be any major mods, which is fine, more things for me to do :)

Yeah definately looks like a ZR2 package. What you can do to check is have the dealer or yourself check out the RPO codes, found on a sticker in the glove box, and if the code ZR2 is on there then it is an authentic ZR2 otherwise looks like someone lifted it some and modded. If it has the rear tire carrier on it though and with those fender flares it looks like it is a factory ZR2, or someone spent lots of time and money on it. Definately a nice looking truck though, wish I had one of those ZR2's.
