i have an 89 s10 with a 2.8 and i was wondering if there are any available parts to get performance out of these engines?  i know i would be better off with a 4.3 or a v8 but this blazer has some sentimental value and it is a rebuilt engine with only like 10 thousand miles on it so i don't really want to swap motors.

I would do an exhaust and intake for staters, and because of the age of the motor there isn't a programmer for it so that is outta the question, but an intake and exhaust will wake it up a lil bit!!!

Just so everyone else is clear, to go from a 2.8L to a 350, the transmission has to be changed as well.

If it's an automatic, I believe it would be a 700R4.

You can do a cold air, headers, underdrive pullies, Chips don't do crap for our motors.

Best bet is the 3.4 swap.

The 2.8L is a 60* V engine while the 4.3L and the V8s are 90* V engines.  The bell housing bolt pattern is different due to the narrower engine requiring the transmission to be changed if you are going to a 90* V engine.

makes sence but wouldn't you just need a new bellhousing and input shaft?
