Lowered my arse! lol, I always do a little drifting when it's on private roads... Okay... A lot

Yeah screw lowered, just need some light snow. I was somewhat sideways infront of the local police station, trying to get up a hill turning off of a busy road onto an unoccupied road/parking lot (in the UP) where a police officer drived by and just waved.

Now in all seriousiness, I do "drift/sideslide/spin tires" in the snow at times, it is pretty much the only option for getting out onto the road/off of the road up here due to the hills. This is only at very low speeds and when I know its safe to do so. I have tested in some parking lots so I know exactly how my blazer will react in different situations like that. I have also taken a police drift/skid avoidence course and am certified in winter driving techniques. The course was cool, since we got to do doughnuts in a controlled enviroment, on a flooded skid pad in crown vic police interceptor packaged cars.

In your situation just keep the speed down going into corners, especially when there is wet/snow covered roads involved. It is much better to take a yelling from the parents for not making curfew than it is to wind up in a ditch or dead.

Come on people.  Please DO NOT post rediculous statements like our buddy lennyblazer has posted.  Completely uncalled for and regardless of whether the cop thought it was funny or not, it was irresponsible.  Drifting on purpose on occupied public roads is just dumb.

Huhuhh...  I drifted in front of the police station and a cop!  Go me!!!

Just my opinion, but I think mocking would fall under the "un-called for" category as well....

It wasn't intentional because at the time i didn't have good tires and it is a very steep hill covered in snow. There were no cars on it at the time. I am not condoning this behavior either, it happened once and I thought it was a funny story to share. I have also edited my original post now to correct the "rediculous statements like our buddy lennyblazer has posted".

Haha this is rediculous..anyone with a driver's license can recognize that intentionally making a 5000 lb SUV go sideways in any situation is dangerous behavior.

Attack the argument, not the person.

Ok offroaders, I get the point that you don't like us lowered guys LOL!!! It's all good , but hey I can say this, I would rather be lower to the ground sliding around in my blaze then lifted sliding with all that body roll you have that I don't!! All in all we both have blazers and they are awesome either way you go with it!!

Got no problem with you lowered folks

Just with your statement that you HAVE to be lowered to drift ;)

Body roll just adds to the adrenaline rush! lol.

Guaranteed, you can do the corners faster on a lowered rig... Or at least with low-pros, lol. I wouldn't want to drift on pavement with mine.

The only time I've ever actually drifted and meant to was on a go-kart lol

I gotta get new tires soon. Granted, I think that's more due to when I was stuck in the mud and couldn't get out but was too retarded to stop trying.

THIS is why I wanted 4wd. If the thing wasn't just 2wd I coulda made it out

lol agreed i took my buddy out once for doughnuts in a snow covered empty lot and he thought we were gunna flip over cuz of the body rolls lol i was like naww just added effect lol.

and lifted blazers can drift too they just need wider tires so that its not as easy to flip lol

Wider tires aren't necessarily good either since they have more area to catch dry pavement causing rolls. However I have no problem lowered or lifted. Mine is stock height and I would like to go higher but dont want to spend the money or deal with the problems that usually accompany lifting. I like the looks of lowered blazers, I just need 4x4 and as much ground clearance as I can reasonably get, since I drive thru snow a lot and also parking up on snow piles occasionally.

wider tires doesnt mean better stance...

I almost fliped when i put my new rims on with 4.25" BS

The same ramp I use to go onto the thruway, I usuallu hit the turn at about 45 with my stock rims...

got my new rims on and I was on two wheels! (scary moment!) Now I gotta take it at 35-40 or Im tipping over

So remember wider tires doesnt mean a less possibility to roll!!!

Any chance of a coincidence with your lift?  I noticed decreased body roll when I put on my 4.5'' BS rims. She felt all around more stable...but might just be me
