My friend jeff said he went 137 in his bone stock jimmy(speedo read that not GPS)..

Its exaclty like this one with a v6 http://www.irautos.com/InventoryVehicles/94%20GMC%20JIMMY.html

I think he if full of it.. he got waxed by my friend with a civic hatch with muffler and cut resonator. Can anyone give me some good reasons that this prolly isnt possible. I dont think it is becuase that car doesnt have that much HP and its not aerodynamic whatsoever too.. a few more reasons too but go ahead and help me out here some..

Not a chance. Not even if it wasn't speed limited in the PCM (which I don't know if a '94 is or not). If the PCM limits the total speed, it would be limited to ~98mph. My Chevelle can do 140+ (don't ask) and that thing is MUCH more aerodynamic and has MUCH MUCH more power than 99% of all s10 blazers. It still took quite awhile to get up to the 130 range. A 4.3L blazer, which even the newer vortecs run out of breath around 3,500-4,000rpm, with the aerodynamics of a brick, wouldn't have a hope and a prayer getting to 137mph unless it was thrown off a cliff or run down an olympic ski jump where gravity could help. Also, correct me if I'm wrong, but don't the early blazers only have a speedo up to 110mph, if so, then he really doesn't have a leg to stand on.

He has a jimmy.. He said the digital speedo read 137 MPH.. I dont understand how this is possible.. All he has in it is a vortec v6..(swapped in), but the engine is stock none the less... anyone have a clue?

He was probably looking at the engine temp sensor reading.. or the speed in kilometers/hour (137km/h = 85.1mph)... :D

That and I highly doubt that any n/a v6 blazer could see those speeds (unless HIGHLY modified).

Should this post be moved to the street N strip area?

I live on the escarpement in Niagara Co. and there are long roads leading to Lake Ontario. I can't get the truck over 118 (rev limiter?)
Is the mechanical speedo still connected? do they match at speed for speed? i.e. One reads 45mph and the reads 45 mph.
Does this aftermarket item require calibration prior to installation?

I have my doubts too. But hey, opinions are like....

Probably, I'll get right on that.
