Ok I was going to do a poll... But I guess you can't on this forum... Anyways how much gains (hp wise) can be expected with the following upgrades combined?

Hypertech Power Programmer III
Cat-back exhaust
Headers
Cold Air Intake

Your choices are:
Absolutely no gain
5-10 hp
10-20 hp
20-30 hp
30-40 hp
40-50 hp
More than 50 hp

But seeing as it's not a poll... You can pretty much put down whatever you want, lol... I really just want to see what peoples' different experiences have been with upgrading the 4.3L V-6, and how "bolt-on friendly" it is...

This is what I got on my blazer
Efan
Hypertech programmer
Accel 300+ ignition
Accel 9000 wires
Accel Super Coil
Cold Air Intake w/K&N filter
Performance Pullies Jet
Gibson Exhuast
B&M cooler and Pan
Royal Purple
and got about 50 to 60 @ the wheels
I want to put headers but have not found them for a 97 with a egr.
Everything was really easy two put on with the right tool. The pullies needed a small impact wrench with power. The efan was easy to install the hard part was the clutch fan needed a impact hammer to turn the nut but good increase. The royal purple is awesome. Accel is awesome too easy as connecting two wires. Pullies is a big increase but not recommended for vehicles that use lots of alternator juice. The gibson is a must for sound with the performance. Very easy to put on just a pain to take the old one off. Hypertech is nice becuase it give you power and changes your shift to make it stop shifting like a granny, feels like a different truck with it. Let me know if you need help with any install or ideas.

Polls are disabled by the administration... Sorry. I had to get added just to run the ROTM forum.

Ivannj, I would be surprised if you have a combined additional hp over 40hp. Since you have no idea where you started, we'll never know. And how many times do I have to say it, Royal Purple is just another oil. It is NOT a performance mod or even a mod in any sense of the word. Although the tranny pan and cooler are a modification from stock, they are not a performance mod.

They are? I've had them useable even before I was a moderator. I guess I just assumed they still worked for everyone.

You are right about what you said moonwaterwith the horse power we will never know but I think more than 40. I believe Royal purple is not a just another oil I am going to leave it at that. The B&M pan and cooler are performance mods in the sence Their job is to keep me tranny cooler than stock That is the perforamnce that is done not hp.

i agree with swart...thats why i asked if he had a dyno done... its hard to jugde gains just by what a company says you will gain... you have to remember they are trying to sell a product and in all likely you will get a good gain but its hard to say you will get what they say you will get.... every engine has dif probs with it which can make the mod act different... thats just my two cents i dont even know if they are worth it lol

Ok, I'll agree with you on the cooler being a cooling mod, but the pan...

Anyway, would you even know 40hp if you were to feel it, you should be able to, but unless you have one finely calibrated butt-dyno, you wouldn't be able to tell the difference between a 40hp gain and a 50hp gain. Not to mention that your mods trickled in (one at a time), so what you might have thought was a 10hp gain per mod (inflated hopes that the money just spent was well spent) could have only been 5hp (oops).

75 to 85 is what the manufactures say I have gained with all the mod except for the throttle body becuase I really doubt that thing increased horse power. I like that but dyno swart funny. Well that is why I said 50 to 60 horses I gained but like everyone has said we will never know for sure. The pan is a mod cuase it hold 3 more quarts of atf than stock and it has cooling fins on the pan. The pan keeps things much cooler and looks cool a little pricey. I tow alot so I got it and I buy lots of merchandise. Royal purple is not just another oil trust me!

i guess u could say some oils perform better then others and may give u that little edge in the race or w/e u want to say but the gain would be small from what ive seen i dont know that it would be a 5 HP gain i would say it would be better in the sense that there would be less friction and w/e else but nothing more...although then again ive never used that prduct so hey i cant totally disagree with u on that one

Once you try it you will never go back to using your old oil.

What does your butt-dyno say you got from these mods? I had been considering an efan, but they're a bit pricey for a (maybe) 5 hp increase... If the increase was more than that then it would be a good deal... Oh and did the ignition, wires, and Coil do anything performance-wise?
