bah... I've tried to sleep. insomnia...WIRED. Swimming in sweat three inches deep. Throwing the covers off and on twice a minute. Too much caffieine, too much water, snoring sister in the next room, rain slapping on the window, the roof vents p'tooning with ever big drop.

Sooooo I'm posting on the forum... good thing to do when you can't sleep?

Anyone have any quick remedies? "And you'll sleep like..." no! not nyquil... I wanna try to sleep little tomorrow night too.

Servere head truama always works.  Might not get back up though.   I just have to wait it out then fall asleep when I'm finally tired.  You could try shutting out every light and noise possible and just sit with your eyes close.  Try not to think about anything and once you relax it should be much easier to fall asleep.

Booze!
Might not make you sleep but will make you all buzz. Not beer though, keeps you awake.
Ever try warm milk? Sounds silly but it works for my wife...

I FINALLY fell asleep... I didn't use massive head trauma either .  Found an ambien in the cabinet. Knocked me out... woke up at 11:00 this morning.

THere you go otherwise I was going to say take a shot or two of some strong booze. that'll relax you a little more and then you should be able to fall asleep.

Takes more than a shot or two... Unless it's moonshine, lol.

Next time, look for MP3 books of Ben Stein reading something boring

I didn't have a problem sleeping last night. It just sometimes I can't go to sleep.  The ambien is some good stuff. It puts you to sleep better than booze.

Watch out for that ambien though it might become addicting!! What I do is find something that winds me down from the day so that I can sleep nicely, usually not being able to fall asleep comes from a heightened stress level or high blood pressure therefore making you not tired enough to go to sleep and laying there restless. Try reading while laying in bed that usually winds you down enough to fall asleep without having to take a sleep aid!! ( just trying to help prevent something that might happen as far as dependency on a drug to sleep)

bah. I'm not addicting myself to anything. I just need some sleep. It hasn't been a good month so far. Found out a member of my family has a possibly has breast cancer, lost work due to the impending depression, a friend got killed yesterday in an accident.  Been a bad time lately.
