At least it wasn't a lot of damage to your truck. Here in Texas, if you hit a car in the rear, you're pretty much guaranteed to get the ticket.
What's that lying on your hood?

Looks like it held up well.  Sucks though.

Solid choice on the Dunkin Donuts!

And glad to hear youre ok and you're not at fault!  NC is the same way as Texas...You always have to be in control of the vehicle, so if you hit anything with your front, it's your fault.  Unless someone backs into you...never talked to anyone that had that happen to em though

Did it damage the substructure of the bumper at all? Or just crack the lower valence part?

Ohio is the same as TX and NC; assured clear distance, regardless if the idiot has their lights on or not. Your lucky, but the damage sucks.

In florida its the same way you get the ticket if you rear end someone ,even if they dont have tail lights, unless you get backed into which i know all about because thats how i ended up buying my blazer, someone backed into my car with a boat in a parking lot that toatled out my car so i bought the blazer with the money from that.

Front end IS rock-solid. If you had a plastic front, it would have looked something like a lego explosion.

Yeah in NC, if you rear-end someone during the day regardless of lights or no, you get the ticket. Theoretically, you are at fault if you couldn't tell a car was slowing down, having a comfortable 200-foot following distance. At night, the one with no taillights is at fault for obvious reasons.

You may want to have your bumper checked out anyway. It may be tweaked a little and might not provide as much protection in the event of another accident.

hahah i dont think blazers and prisms like eachother, my accident was with a prism, but it rear ended me goin 60 (i had just pulled out and was accelerating, he wasn't watching the road, etc)

his car was TOTALED and all i had to do was straighten my exhaust, replace the rear bumper and get a new spare tire carrier, and even then, the bumper wasn't damaged very badly at all

I'm glad you didn't have more damage. Real glad you didn't get hurt. If you rear-end anyone here in Arizona your in trouble. It's your fault no matter what.
