Ever wanted your Jimmy or Blazer to sound superbadass?

Yeah Me too.. So the other day I was bored out of my mind so I decided to go hop underneath my Jimmy and see what the hell I could do. I looked long and hard at the exhaust then it hit me, Im gonna chop out my muffler!

So before I got to excited I decided I would just take the rear half of the system (muffler / pipe) off where it bolts onto the cat at the flange just to get an idea of what It would sound like. After I did that I was sold. I ran down to Canadian tired and picked up a piece of 2.5inch 24inch long exhaust pipe for $25.00. I came back to the house hauled the whole tail end of the exhaust system out. Then I chopped the muffler out with a zipcut on a grinder. Then put the 24inch pipe in place of the muffler then  fabbed it all back together using selftapping screws and exhaust sealant ( I know jimmy rig right but whatever) and then put it all back on. I had to torque the hell out of system to get it all to fit the hangers back in their original positions but once it was back on it was solid and it worked fine. Fired her up and she sounded wicked.

I didnt take pictures of the whole process because it was completly done on a whim, I didnt plan it or think it out I just went and did it.

I know all of you are thinking how does it really sound, well.. here

I did that, hated it and stuck a dual chamber resonator on sounds much better.

Yeah I might try this since the muffler is shot and I have a gasket or something like that, thats bad on the exhaust system (where 2 pipes meet or between the ypipe and the tailpipe) not sure yet where its at, as it only happens at times and sounds horrible. I'll be looking into that and a drivers side axle seal this week.
