truck wont accelerate after fun in mud - 3/12/2008 6:14:27 AM    woodsballr   Posts: 211 Joined: 1/6/2007 Status: offline well yesterday i had the bright idea to go play in some mud. long story much shorter i had to get pulled out a couple times. now my truck isn't running right. i went out this morning to go to school and when i tried to go the truck was acting weird. the first 1/4 inch or so of the gas pedal yields acceleration but if i push it down any father, including all the way down, it just sputters like its at idle for 4-5 seconds and then slowly starts to accelerate still sputtering. it idles fine. when it warms up some i'm gonna go out and try it again. any suggestions are welcome. *(this is probably in the wrong section) < Message edited by woodsballr -- 3/12/2008 6:31:00 AM > _____________________________ 1985 GMC High Sierra 1500 w/a 5.7L V8 + a 4-barrel carb. ~~"Live like you ain't afraid to die"~~the late, great Chris LeDoux Post #: 1

What for a carb does it have on it?  I'm guessing a Rochester Q-jet.
