I bought a componet set speakers

2 6.5s and 2 tweeters...for the fronts,

Do I have to put in the crossover it came with? Better yet, what does the cross over do? and if it is nesecary, how do I hook it up?

Thanks...

The crossover is definately necessary. What it does it splits the full range frequency your source feeds the speeakers into two seperate frequency bands that allow the speakers to play in thier optimum range...The x-over also maintains a constant 4ohm load at the input that ensures you are not paralelling down to a dangerous impedance at any point...

To hook it up just wire the leads from your head unit or amplifier to the INPUT on the x-over, and then the tweeter and midbass should be labeled accordingly...

So take the leaks coming from the stock speaker, and put them into the x-over

Wire the speaker into the x-over, and the tweeters into the x-over?
