My friend owns a 03 silverado 1500 with the 4.3L vortech v6 in it. He has done mostly the same mods i have. He has a custom intake, and a poweraid throttle body spacer. Now before when we raced he would barley get me, but last week he bought a JET CHIP stage 2 module, and now he just hits the throttle and his truck lays down big black lines, plus he woops my ass now when we race. JET claims something like 25 more hp and 15-20 more ft. lbs of torque, and i beleive them. When i get it, which is what im saving for as of now, i will let you know how things go.

jet chips are known for very poor tuning in their chips...the only thing it will do is maybe advance the timing by like 1deg... i find it kinda hard to believe that it would work that well

I haven't heard anything spectacular about chips. I did hear that a power programmer was a WAY BETTER option.

thats what i heard too, i just want to see if it actually does work on 02vortechs truck. I heard all a chip does is enhance the mods that have been previously done to the engine. such as intake, exhaust, pullies, cam, etc.... is there a dyno around you so you could do a before and after?

yeah there are 2 or 3 dynos in town so yes i could go get before and after readings. But instead of going with the $270 jet chip i think i will go with, MARCH pullies, and MARCH spark plug wires for a total of somewhere around $210 and proven hp improvments of up to 15 w/ both.

yeah going with the pullies would be a better idea than the chicp..... before i put my pullies on i wasnt able to blow tire yes one tire(sux) but anyways after i put them on i was able to break stand it without water or anything on the tire i think its a better choice

I put the Power Programmer performance programming on mine and it will smooth pass somebody quick now. It accelerates ALOT better. Although there isn't that big a difference from a dead stop. I thought that stock the 4.3 was a little sluggish.

The best part is the 100mph limiter is now gone!

I got it for $200 on eBay. Worked GREAT!
