look what I bought.

cliro -> look what I bought. (3/14/2008 4:22:12 PM)

bought these off a local guy from a classified site. came off a 1996 s10 pickup. paid $160 and got the rims, centrecaps and plastic lugnut caps, just need to buy the special lugnut. Is there a metal lugnut I can buy so I dont have to use the gay black caps.

these rims came from a 2wd truck so i'm pretty pumped that they'll stick out a couple inches over the stock ones from mine. Now I just need to get my dad to switch the rubbers over from mine.

finally get to ditch my ugly as* rims.
Might have to debadge my truck now since the centre caps have bowties on em, lol.

Maybe fill in the bow tie and paint the caps to to match the truck??????

willjones -> RE: look what I bought. (3/14/2008 4:44:50 PM)

It will still have a Jimmy front end. And who cares if they have a bowtie on them, they look better and thats all that matter right?

cliro -> RE: look what I bought. (3/14/2008 5:46:44 PM)

you bet. does anybody else have 2wd rims, if so do you have any pictures of the difference that they stick out, i'm kinda curious to see what kinda change i'm looking at.

WolfPack -> RE: look what I bought. (3/14/2008 7:58:26 PM)

2wd are 4'' right?  I'm running with 4.5''..so it's close

not precise though [;)]

Good for you man!

Its just my opinion, but I like your stock rims better, but it is your truck!  It'll look good either way!

cliro -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 9:49:34 AM)

looking for pics with a stock size tire (235/75/15) on 2wd rims, setup on 4x4 for comparison.

WolfPack -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 11:00:01 AM)

Well yea I meant in my gallery I've got 235s on the 4.5.  But no 2wd of course.  I'll do some lookin for ya though, there's gotta be someone on here that does!

Hanr3 -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 11:38:26 AM)

Here you go.
The first two pics are 2wdr rims and stock sized tires. With that set up we rubbed like 31" tiures do on stock 4x4 rims on a stock 4x4.

The next three pics are 4x4 rims on with stock tires.

cliro -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 11:43:22 AM)

i shouldn't have any rubbing issues with the 235/75/15's right.

Hanr3 -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 11:50:58 AM)

If you are running 4x4 rims with stock tires on a 4x4, no rubbing.
If you are running 2wdr rims with stock tires on a 4x4 you will have rubbing.

Notice how the metal splash guards aren't on the front tires? They used to be until the 2wdr rims ripped them off. 2wdr rims with stock tires on a 4x4 rig will rub the back of the front fender well. This is not a maybe, or it could, it WILL rub, and it rubs on the bolts holding the inner fender in place.

I guess its too late for you to buy other rims. There are some things you can do.
Beat the fender well back with a 10 pound sledge hammer so it doesn't rub.
Install a 2" body lift.
Rip the bolts out and not worry about it.
or crank teh torsion bars, although that is no garantee it wont rub while flexing on corners and driveways.

cliro -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 11:57:49 AM)

well thats no good, so in stock form i can't use these rims. damn.

Hanr3 -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 12:00:53 PM)

You can try it and see how you like it.
I bet your going to lose your splash gaurds and you will need to remove your inner fender bolts. You'll figure out which ones pretty quick.

WolfPack -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 3:36:22 PM)

Granted my 235/75s were quite low on tread when I got the 4.5'' backspaced rims, but I had no rubbing whatsoever.  Not bumps, full lock, etc.  Would the 15/32nds or whatever the difference in tread depth makes to the diameter of the tire rub that much?

I had the problems you mentioned when I got the 265s, but 235/75 was fine for me..no t-bar, nothin.

blazinloud -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 5:13:41 PM)

I also like your stock rims better.....wanna sell em?

cliro -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 8:00:58 PM)

wolfpack. What are you using for lift, just torsion bars and shackles, i'm thinkin your tires. stick out quite a bit more because of the wider tire you are using.

blazinloud. I'll probably keep them, besides they are curb rashed pretty good from the previous owner.

i've searched all over the internet for pics and i can't find anything........

WolfPack -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 8:32:21 PM)

They do stick out quite a bit more.  They are 10.5s!  And I just have the t-bars up 1'' or so to make it level.  They were sagging pretty hard with the weight of my brush guard, and even before the guard I had a good deal of rake.

235/75s on 4.5'' BS looks like:

cliro -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 9:59:21 PM)

can you maybe get a pic of your wheel well with the tires cranked over so i can see how much room there will be between the tire and inner fender.

thegr81 -> RE: look what I bought. (3/15/2008 11:17:44 PM)

Those rims will look good on your rig!! Congrats on getting them!![:D]
