Well at the moment I have a hypertech with mathematically correct shift points, power tuned with premium octane. I also just finished a sea foam treatment and will be running synthetic oil.

Tomorrow I will get my K&N FIPK and while I've got the MAF out I'll give it a quick cleaning...

Other than that... Hope he has a bad day at the track...

The scenario I posted in the first post really isn't true to the point that I'll be losing anything if/when I lose. I'm completely expected to lose. (But that's why I wanted to win so bad, lol)

Bahaha.

Sorry man, as a former stang owner, I think you're screwed. Stangs are 100x easier to mod than the 4.3L and there's a very slim chance that his car is completely stock. If he's done a gear swap he'll be MUCH quicker (.5 seconds or so). If he can drive, even stock, he could be running 14.1's or so. And stangs have posi stock. The 4.3, at least from my experience, was designed as a torquey V8 replacement for trucks/SUV's, hence the dead top end (not unlike the stock 96-98 Mustangs).

If he is COMPLETELY stock, and youhave $2k to spedn though, you might be able to take him, doubtful though.

Good Luck!

Yeah well I know at least for this week he'll be bone stock. He's actually a good friend of mine, so I know everything that he plans to do with his car. Next weekend he's taking it to the track to get an actual track quarter mile time, and then plans to put a bunch of money into improving that time. I'm basically just trying to get mine as fast as possible before next Saturday, because I think that'd be cool if I could take him. I know I can't, but really it was just a goal.
