The previous owner had some Painted on pinstriping applied and I'm not diggin' it too much. There is one on the hood, and one on the rear lift gate.. Besides the fact that parts of it are missing or removed already, it just doesn't fit me... Is there any way of removing this without damaging the factory paint? It seems to flake off in spots with a fingernail, but others are really on there..will post some pics in a few minutes

you could get sum wetsand paper 1000 grit or 1200 grit very fine and carefully wetsand it off then you`ll just have to have the area compunded not recleared unless you burn thru the clear while sanding, just take your time and it will come off , from the sound of what you described it doesnt sound like its under any clear now if its chipping off... so it should come off pretty easy...

I was trying to avoid that approach because I'll end up going through the clear coat knowing my luck..but I think it is inevitable...so, after I wet sand it, I polish it and that's it?
