So, i would like to get a bigger tire. I went to a tire place today and they said they could put on a 18" rim with bfg all terain tires an not have it rub. Can that be done? Im goin for the rugged look with some black rims. I would like them to stick out a bit as well. Any help greatly appreciated.

dont want them to stick out without any suspension mods/fender trimming. It is possible to make 18's with a BFG AT fit but they would look like low pro BFG AT's, which IMO defeats the purpose of having a tough tire. I have them because they are strong and have a very high puncture/cut resistance (I have no spare)... but thats just my opinion.. Lastcoupe has BFG AT's on 17's on his truck and they look awesome.. look at kis photo gallery..

I think i might get like a 16" or 17" wide rim, like 6" backspacing. That should work shouldnt it?

Um... 16" or 17" WIDE??? Or are you speaking 16" diameter or 17" diameter... A 30" outside diameter tire is as large as you would want to go without other modifications (lift, trimming, etc). So if you start with say a 235/80R15{metric size close to a 30x9.5R15} (~30" OD with 9.25" section width and 7.4" sidewall height), if you went with a 16" rim, you would drop to a 235/75R16 (~30" OD with 9.25" section width and 7" sidewall height). With a 17" rim, 235/70R17 (~30" OD with 9.25" section width and 6.5" sidewall)

how sweet would a blazer look with 17" wide rims?? lmao..... I'm sure he meant 17" diameter.. simple mistake, I am not lmao @ the op... just at the mental image of tires sticking out 12-13 inches from the fender... I smell a photoshop opportunity..
