I just redid mine and I used a combination of 180 and 220 grit then 4 coats of filler primer then 4 coats of gloss black I will post up pics when I get a chance I took a few pics. I used the duplicolor gloss black which turned out really nice!!

I used the duplicolor filler primer and color I used was the light grey, but as long as it says filler primer on it I don't think it matters. I got all the stuff I used at autozone for under 20 bucks!!

Just clean them with dish washing liquid to get rid of any armor-all and paint them with krylon fusion. Thats what I did and they haven't faded at all. You shouldn't need to scuff them up or anything.

Ok. My driver side mirror was busted out by some punk, does advance auto or a local place carry these in stock?

Depends. They won't have the power mirror, but if its the mirror like this...

...they will have it in stock.

I'd scuff it up with at least 400 to give the primer something to bite to. That or use self etching primer before the filler primer. What ever you do just make sure you use the same line of products, don't mix and match brands on paint and primer. Nothing like getting done spraying and come back the next day to find out your paint didn't like your primer.

I have the same mirrors, if someone busted my mirror I'd thank them. They're ugly mirrors indeed. I really want to change my side view mirrors. If anything I'd get the smaller ones that the earlier Blazers came with.

I dont think you can just replace the mirror, you may have to buy the whole new assembly

This may be too late... but the best way to replace only the mirror is to go to a glass shop and have them fit and cut a mirror out. Saved us 50 bucks on our silverado.
