Its a early 90's model Toyota pickup that has been in service at a horse farm. Its out in a field down the road and it doesn't run.
Its a 3-speed automatic with push-button overdrive, inline 4cyl EFI, extended cab, A/C and heat works, 4 cooper tires with 1/2 tread, JVC cd radio, 119k miles, long bed. Needs a timing chain and a new battery and it'll be on the road. Needs a new front fender, grille and bumper, but no frame damage or warpage that I could tell.

I figure I'll get the engine fixed, fix the front fender and slap a paint job on it. Then I'll make me a mini-truck out of it. Probably bag it later on.... just a toy for me. I was originally looking for a first gen S10 or Blazer wagon, but this fell into my lap at a price I couldn't argue with.
I'm gonna take some pictures of it tonight and make a before and after album when I get it fixed up.

Oh yes, I would lift that thing wayyyy up.  Armor it up, tube doors...I wanna get an old truck or jeep and do that, but I have no where to build it.  My parents would probably sell it as soon as I left it at their house.

Correction above, its 2wd and it has 196k miles. but still. I just drug it home and called mom and she asked, "what does it look like?" in a kinda sarcastic tone. lol.

I don't have pics right now, but I will post some tomorrow.

They're great! I'm the proud owner of a early 90's model 'Yota myself. Except mine has less miles, the carburated motor (22-r whereas yours is 22-re) and a 4 speed manual tranny. Can't beat the gas mileage on it, that's why I bought it. Oh, and mine is beat all to hell...it's name is Chuck 'Yota but I nicknamed it the "Bred" truck....blue cab, red bed ie, "Bred" truck.

Looked on the doorjamb and its a 94 model.

Definately not gonna paint it gold. Can't have two vehicles of the same color. Might paint it dark green metallic or I may go yellow. It all depends on whether I can get that motor runnin.

I'm partial to yellow/black for the old but not classic era cars

Are you going to paint it yourself? Your dad's gotta have an air compressor with all that HVAC stuff you guys do.

oh yeah... we have an air compressor. Big Ingersoll-Rand Air compressor. I'm gonna bead blast it and paint it myself. If it looks good, fine, if not, I'll redo it!

Haha yess! That's what I like to hear!!!

I tried bead blasting..but I bought 5 gal of apparently finishing blaster....so it did absolutely nothing.  Ended up having to use a power drill with a stripping brush on it....burned up 2 medium duty ones before spending the $$$ on a heavy duty...which I still have 2 years later!

I've got a 33 gal Craftsman...gets up to 150 psi, so I can comfortable use 1/2 drive impact wrenchs and what not...kinda wish I had a bigger one so we could run multiple hoses though!

Man, with that big ingersoll, I have run two DA jitterbug sanders at the same time for about an hour. The thing is about 8 feet tall. I run air drills and stuff regularly too. I'm down to mostly power tools now because its so noisy in the shop, but I still can resist getting the air powered sheet metal snips out when the drill battery dies! I'm gonna have to go crash course on welding and bending too. I want to fabricate some things

Oh yes...I keep trying to convince my dad he needs to get a welder..   Guess I'll have to wait till I get my own garage.

I've always wanted something I could take apart and not have to get it back together the next day! Looks like I got my wish!

Nice sounds good, its nice having a project like that. Green and Gold is good (Packers colors, lol)!!! I want to have a cheap project vehicle, something that could get me 30mpg would be awesome to drive in the city and what not when I don't want to ride the moped in the rain.
