agent305's sig is a good example of one that remains within all requirements (640x200px and under 500KB) and still looks good!  Check it out!

That looks cool. I think his default pic on myspace is animated too. Did anyone ever figure out how to animate on Paint.NET? or is it not possible?

I did not make Agent's sig.  I just wanted to show an example of a sig that is cool and still fits within the parameters set out in Rules and Regulations.

Hopefully they make a better animated image format soon... I mean, you'd think they'd have something better than .gif by now...

Brent, I could never find a way to make an animated .gif with paint.Net. However, I only used it for 2 or 3 days so I'm sure you are more familiar with the software. FWIW, I couldn't figure it out in GIMP either.

I didn't know if there was a trick to it or anything like layering it a certain way... oh well....

I don't think so. I read through the manual and it does't seem to have anything about animating.

Here is a link to some FREE animation programs. I have played around with Sqirlz Morph a little bit but not enough to use it very well.

Squirlz Morph seems to have large file sizes when you animate.  Brent's sig is just a hair over 500KB (using Squirlz) but the same in PS would be about half that...
