I had heard about people offroading on telephone line trails (and there are a TON of good ones in tennessee) Lets say i decided to go out with a friend or two and follow the trail, is it illegal and can i get in trouble for it?

Around here in Raleigh all those trails are illegal. Progress Energy is our power/electric company and they own the land beneath the lines, their responsible for the maintenance, etc.. Most powerline trails down here are already tagged with No Trespassing signs, and the ones guys have already tried and rutted up get either large boulders dropped at the edge of the road by the entrances, or the company will dig a very large, very deep trench at the entrance. I would say that if you don't see any no trespassing signs out, you'll probably be ok. Then again you always risk the chance that it's privately owned land and the power/phone company leases the space from the owner.

I wouldn't go on those trails, just in case they did do something to the trail were you can't see and come flying around and wreck!!
