Hello. I've been having a problem lately when first starting my Blazer after it has been sitting for an extended period of time (8 hours or so). I turn the key and it kind of sputters like it doesn't want to start, but then it turns over and starts. This only happens if it has been sitting an extended period of time such as over night or while I've been at work all day. It starts up just fine if it has only been sitting for a short time. I dont know if it is the starter or the alternator possibly but I dont really think it would be. However, I am no mechanic so I have come here for help. Sorry for the long post, but hopefully someone can help me. Thanks!

well, mines used to do that...

and i blew a head gasket...

simple signs to look for:
check oil
check radiator
check to see how much water it's drinking
is it overheating?

check the airfilter to see if the pipe is clear..
*mines was filling up with oil, that's how i knew i had a serious problem...

take it to a shop and get a diagnostic test...

I'm going to guess fuel pressure regulator leak-down. Hook a fuel pressure gauge to the schraeder valve on the fuel inlet line on top of the engine, turn the key to the 'on' position and see if the pressure is ~51-63psi. Turn the key off and the pressure should not drop more than ~2-3psi. If it continues to drop over the next several minutes, you have a fuel pressure regulator problem. Let us know what you find.

Sounds like either the battery or starter to me. Drive to you local autoparts store and have them test them. I suspect its the battery, got a dead cell. It'll hold a charge for a little while, the longer it goes the more it drains off.
