I noticed that when I drive at highway speeds there is an excessive amount of windnoise coming from the drivers side window. I figured it was probably just inherent in the way the vehicle was made because it was not a deafening sound. Well I just washed the car today and noticed that some water was leaking in the vehicle around were the drivers side controls are. So could this be simply a weather stripping problem? If so, anyone know about how much I can expect to pay to fix this?

OMG are you serious? I am shocked man! My truck just spent 3 weeks in the body shop and I am guessing in the thousands is what it cost the dealership....They told me that they did not believe it was a fitment issue but didn't know what caused it. I have no idea how they fixed it but there was a lot of dust in my truck when they were done like the did some sanding and painiting and now the rear passenger door top sits a little higher. Both doors squeak a little now too. I would love to hear more about yours because the dealership was fighting with the place they got my truck from trying to make them pay for it b/c they believed it was something they did to it. Many people speculated my truck had been rolled over but the dealership claimed that no body work had been done to it. Mine is a 2005 4x4 4 Door Blazer, not trail blazer. You could see a gap in between the gasket and body through the door when looking over your left shoulder and yes the wind noise was horrible and yes you could get wet in a car wash. I am still waiting for the dealership to send me the paperwork on what all they did to it but it seems to have been one hell of an ordeal. What exactly is your truck?

Black19, chances are the door hinge bushings are worn causing the door to sag. Do a search for "door hinge bushings" and see what you come up with.

Your right DaveLance, had same problem. My mechanic replaced both hinge pins on my drivers side door. Never had the problem again.

I had the same problem with my 95 s10 blazer 4dr and in deed the hinge bushings were shot. I replaced them but still had the same problem with wind noise coming from the upper rear part of the drivers door. I suspecet it was the weather stripping however it was in a front end collision before I bought and fixed it. For now I used some blunt force to bend the top rear corner of the door inward slightly and the noise is gone. I'm sure weather stripping is to blame as all the body lines on that side seem to line up propperly but for now the problem is solved.

Pins and bushings fixed my leak, but my roommate has a 03( mine is a 92 different designs) and it does the same thing, his is in the weatherstripping not fitting right due to the way GM cut the flanges, finally got some autozone weatherstripping and it fixed the problem.
