I just removed it as one piece. Then I put it in a vice and turned it loose. You only need the lower portion for the new intake, but be sure and not mess any threads up when you put it in a vice. _____________________________ The Apex '98 Blazer 4dr Dk. Of course it cost more to get it to New Zealand than what it cost & then I had to modify the heat shield to suit the RHD Blazer. Sounds good & seems more responsive. I'm still on the same tank of gas, so I need to wait & see if any mileage improvement. _____________________________ '99 Blazer LS 4 door 4x4 Auto RHD, Euro smoked tails & bumper lights, custom roof lights.
