Finally got my project board in, can start my superflux led retro into my clears.  Then I want to tint them, to match my black bumper.  I'll take vidz and pix when it goes down.

At least I'm not the only one thats doing this. I started on the grille lights, and having problems fitting everything in them. I figured the bumper lights would be easy. Put I just been working on a spare set taking my time while I'm smoothing and painting my interior.

One projector mounted, still need to mod the shield and install the aftermarket lens.  I want to mount them to adjust the rotation and then seal them back up.  The shroud I made was done quickly and I will make a new one with a better fit.

Ya Neo I'm really get sick of the stupid single 194 bulb in the corners.  Tonight I can start mounting some leds and resistors.  I hope I can make them all fit like I want.

Started on my led corners.  Still have more to do on it.  Takes a lot of time to do.

Not 100% on cost yet Ryan.  I think it was around $130 for 200 leds off ebay.  Then add resistors which are cheap, and project board etc.  It's not all that much money, just time consuming.  Here is one board all soldered up.  Will have to upload them to imageshack when it works for me.

Blue, more is better, they might look bright in the pics but sunshine tends to wash LEDs out more than regular bulbs. I'm thinking of putting more than that in mine but I'm also using amber LEDs.

Jason, Do you have the thickness of those? Have you tried them in the corner lens yet? I have my lens split and near the top and bottom I don't think there is enough room for your board. I can try to get some measurements of the inside lens if you don't already have one split.

My LEDs need to hurry up and get here.

Yes I have tested one side and it fits.  I knew that there might not be much room and I might have to think of an alternate mounting.  I will get some pics tomorrow as I mount the board to the lens.  What I did was cut the rear of the lens off just under the top mount down to the very bottom of the lens.  So that leaves the top unlit, which I am not overly worried about.  I could add a few more leds up there, but I am happy with it so far.  The leds hit the lens and my wiring on the back is right tight to the bezel.  I need to glue the board to the lens, and then I want to see if I can use my thermal epoxy potting over the backside.  When I do my blazer I will fill the entire lens with LED's, but the Jimmy this is good.  Seems so far that these put the 194's to shame.  I honestly hope that when I tint the lens that the output goes down a bit.  In that video I only had 18 of those 24 leds wired.  It's not a great difference from before, but it's noticeable.

Cool beans. Sorry if I'm seeming like a doubting tom but its always good to pick the brains of somebody doing the same mods as you, lol.

My first attempt was round 5mm LEDs drilled into the back of the lens and they didn't look worth a crap. I've since like to think I've learned a bit and starting over tho hasn't helped my pocket has helped teach me something.

Oh I understand where you're coming from.  It's definitely a tight fit, with no extra room to work with.  I'm hoping to get them finished this weekend, and start working on the bumper lights.  Haven't decided on how to go about those yet.  Either just separate the lens or cut out the back like I did here.

Decided to start on the bumpers.  Projects like this really test your patience.

Since we done got way off topic and on LEDs, lol. Heres some of my first attempts and where I'm at now.

The first set with 5mm rounds installed

My lens cut apart. I'm just gonna make 2 boards for the bumpers then glue a flat ABS panel on the back with a pigtail.

They are dimmer than the superflux LEDs, These been in process for awhile and the 5mm LEDs I had laying around. I started out just using crap I had laying around. Also thats why I said first attempt, I've since decided to split the lens and go with superflux like jason has.
