went to change sideaxle bearing in my 96 s10 4x4 blazer today, first seal was wrong size, the second problem is i cannot find the plug to put gear oil in. where is the plug located?

Rear axle? The fill plug is on the front side of the axle, on the differential housing, on the passenger's side. It's a flush mount small circular plug with a square drive hole in it.

thanks, i'll give it a look tomorrow. how many different size seals are there for the blazer, i got the most popular one at the supply store and its to big. the only other 1 they have listed is bigger again. if i had the size i might be able to get 1 crossreference.

Scott, I added fluid to mine today. Wolfs right. Its on the passenger side. One problem I found is that theres a lot of dirt up there so grab a flat head screw driver and just start cleaning off the upper half of the "pumkin". Its a 3/8 drive. Use a 3/8 drive and extension and with both hands it loosen up nicely

found it under all the dirt, but its stripped out.
