I have a '96 Blazer 4d 4x4.  I was wondering if it would be a good idea to put 3inch body lift in the front and back. has anyone out there done this to their blazer?  I would like to know if this is a good idea? thank you

Several people out there have 2" body lifts for them. The only one I know of that has a 3"BL on a second gen (95-05) is Taymacjack.  There are several first gens with a 3"BL.

just a clearification lift blocks and body lift are not one in the same. body lift just lifts the body and blocks are put on the axle to lift the suspension that way. but on the s-series truck you can not use lift blocks to lift the truck it actually lowers it.

I have only heard of the 2" body lifts for the second gen trucks, a 3" lift would be custom done. The only way a suspension block system would work is if you did a spring over axle conversion in the rear (SOA), which gets you 5-6" of lift I believe just doing the SOA. Otherwise like jimmyboy said, it will lower the blazer.
