You did not say if it turns over. Is the carb getting adequate fuel? It could be a number of things. The solenoid above the starter, bad grounds, dying battery. Check them out.

Welcome, and it could be your starter. If it isn't turning over, its the battery, starter, or ignition circuit.

Did you replace the coil?
You need to find out how far back you have spark. Are you getting it at the distriburator cap?

Coil can be bad. Module is good option. Wiring inside the distributor is another. of course the most basic things have to work first. 1. Is there 12 volts at the coil? Seems I remember the fusible link on a 78 van giving me fits at the starter, this feeding the ignition ckt. Odds are most folks dont look there but thats where many come from. A greasy or dirty-loose connection or a broken wire or fusible link blown out or cut, can destroy the whole ckt. So trouble can certainly be AT STARTER, even if it turns over. This would be checked AT the coil ckt. Its the wire that is labelled BAT at the cap. Pull it off and check it when you turn on the key. 12 V positive when ignition is on.

Assuming this is good. Take the cap off. Is the rotor button (little black carbon thingy) and rotor, any good? Broken ones dont work. If things look good, remove the module and have it checked. It's cheaper than the coil. If it is good, make sure you get some fresh dielectric grease and reinstall the thing. Believe it or not, the capacitor actually does something and if it happens to be shorted, your car wont start. Those things are real cheap if you can find them. Always come with new module, do not replace module without new capacitor. Seldom happens though. That leaves the coil itself. Nothing else to check if you have given us correct info so far.

In other words, you said you had no spark.

Just read where you have already changed the module. I left the info anyway.
