It actually isn''t that hard. Since it is 4wd, you will have a few extra expenses. If you are keeping the v8 fuel injected, then you will also have to spend more money. But if you decide to go carbed, you will have to switch your trans which will cost a bit. You can keep your trans with a carbed v8 if you buy a standalone computer for the trans. I did the swap in my 95 and love it. It uses a bit more gas than I anticipated tho.

If you''ve never done one give yourself 3 months and then when its not done finish over the 6 months of winter. Budget $2500 and after 3 months get another $2000 just to be safe.

I only ended up spending about $1400 on my swap. Quite a bit less than I planned.

I have almost $5000 in my engine alone then the tranny couldn''t take it so that was another $1000 headers,mounts,hoses,belt, plugs,wires,fluids it adds up quick.

I got a really good deal on my engine. I only paid $150 for the complete engine with only about 2 hours runtime since rebuilt. I got the trans from a buddy and only paid $75 for it. It does add up fast, but I actually expected to spend more.

If you can get some good "brother-in-law" deals and if you do the work yourself....buget $2000 for the project and about one year. You can find a V8 S10 Blazers for sale from $1500 to $8000 depending on the condition of the vehicle. Finding a V8 S10 Blazer ready to drive is the cheapest and best way to do it. Usually the builder of such a vehicle will lose 50% of his investemnt on a resale.

sorry for the thread jack but i have a question as well....would I have to swap over to a 2wd front suspension and axles if I wanted to put a 350 in my truck??

no you can keep the 4wd but you have to get an oil pan for the 4x4 s10''s from JTR.com or some where else.
