I just made two boxes for the alpine type-r subs i just bought and the seem pretty small, the are just over 1 cubic foot, the recomended sealed box vol. is .57 to 1 cubic foot. does anyone have any input on this? And does anyone know where i can get some carpet to wrap the boxes in from, i.e. lowe's home depot or something like that.

If you built the boxes within alpine's specs, it should be fine. I got 3 yards of carpet at www.partsexpress.com ($3.75/yd) which was  more than I needed for my box.

For size comparison, that is a 15" sub. I have to ask though, why did you build two seperate boxes for your subs?

here is a pic i drew up real quick. i built 2 boxes because it is going to be in a half box type of thing that i am going to make to form the of the back where it is going to be. im going to try to form the mdf to the same contours as the wheel wells and make it look like the box was supposed to be apart of my truck. im going to have my amp on a 45* angle, on the top of the boxes with a piece of mdf with some red neons recessed into the board with a piece of plexi ontop, and then the amp on top of that. it took me the better half of the day to make two boxes that are 15x15x13, this is my second box that i have made so im kind of new at it but they turned out fantastic.

You have a 15' alpine type R?

what are you powering it with? and does it hit hard? I have the same thing, but in a box as big as my trunk...I kinda want some trunk space back, and if that hits just as nicly, I am ganna make that type of box.
