RE: painting tail lights? - 5/14/2008 7:21:40 PM    Big Frost   Posts: 87 Joined: 5/11/2008 Status: offline If your trying to "Smoke" them, i dont think spray paint is the way to go, it will completely cover your tail light, and to my knowledge, wont show anything thru ( i could be wrong) What i suggest is getting light wraps on ebay, or even a sheet of tinted dark film and cut it yourself. Last set I done I just wet sanded the lights with 600, shot enough coats on to get it as dark as I wanted, then cleared over it but you don't have to clear. Been years ago when the crappy looking covers were in (didn't like them then) but I'm not much for tinted lights so I've never done anymore but it held up good. _____________________________ 1987 s-10 blazer 4x4, 2.8, 700r4, np207, 3.73 gears with a few mods. RE: painting tail lights? - 5/14/2008 10:08:02 PM    cliro Posts: 1209 Joined: 10/11/2007 From: Calgary, AB Status: offline get the can of vht like neo said... very easy to do. first make sure you clean the taillights really good with soap and water to get any wax and whatnot off. sand with a fine paper, i used 1000 grit last time i did it. spray thin, even coats until you get desired darkness.. 3 is usually good. optional - spray with clear, and polish with a polishing compound. thats the way i've always done it. most people dont bother with the clearcoat. _____________________________ 2004 GMC Jimmy 4x4, 2dr. metallic cherry red. .net instead of .com (better) (in reply to blazin97) Post #: 10

I also did a set for a girl at my job...
