I am not sure about the differences between the two, but my 1998 LT 4x4 has a Tach.

I think there are two available instrument panels in a blazer, to me it's weird that a loaded blazer would not have a tach.

Yea that is odd for it not to have a tach.

It probably has a lot of options, but isnt 'loaded'  I dont have a tach in my blazer, and it really dosnt matter in an automatic, I see no use for them...

I completely agree.  What is the use of a tach on an automatic other than just for curiosity sake.

I know a lot of the 95-97 trucks didn't have a tach...   I have an LT (98) and it has a tach

i like a tach. because i shift it my self some times  and dont want to blow something. but the blazer i am looking at has every thing but a sun roof. it has 134000 miles and looks good. i was wanting to get a LT but i might just fiz up my LS and make it beter than LT. what would all you people do?

They have as much use as they do in an auto as they do in a manual, you don't need one to shift.  I just like having a tach, I hate driving without them. I guess it's just a gimmick thing that lets me know how hard the engines working because I rarely use them for shifting purposes even when I'm powershifting or double clutching in the big trucks.

i think it's more of tradition. they put them in , in the past, so they continue to do so. I like them. I even like them on my little 550 motorcycle. nowdays they don't even put one on the bigger bikes
