Okay i have this 2001 blazer extreme with a bangin system ha. but i always have to have in turned up because of some annoying squeaks and rattles.

1) the rear lift gate has this sqeak that only squeaks when its completely closed but stops if i just push the button to release it but not opening it

2) both rear speaker covers rattle like crazy and stop once i put my hands on them to "subdue" the rattling but i cant always have a hand on them ha ha

3) this rattle is actually on the outside when my subs are turned up. it comes from the rear right fender and stops when i put my hand on it.

does anyone know what im talking about?
do you know how to fix it?
please help.
i'm going out of my mind with all the rattles!

to the Forum.

1) Try some silicon spray on the hinges of the struts and the tailgate and some silicon grease on the weatherstripping.

2) Turn down the volume?

3) Turn down the sub.

put weather stripping on the speakers or cut the plastic covers off exposing the speaker.

actually i just fixed the lift gate by putting black tape on the hook haha but thanks anyways but as for the speaker covers i cant hear it rattle when the music is up. i can only hear them rattle when its off or turned down so its annoying when i want to hear a person talk. and seriously, its actually the flare that rattles but thats sorta the fender anyways.

no it doesnt look ghetto, you dont even see the weather stripping. It will look like crap if you take the cover off thought if you dont do it right.

I just recommend putting weather stripping around the speaker so it acts like a gasket between the speaker and the door panel. You will probably have to cut some of it off to fit properly, but its a cheap fix and works great.

its not the speaker that rattles its the rear speaker covers and not on the door cause its a two door.
