A recent study found the average American walks about 900 miles per year. Another study found Americans drink, on average, 22 gallons of beer a year. That means, on average, Americans get about 41 miles to the gallon. Kind of makes you proud to be an American.

4.3L is less than a V8 in every aspect... Including gas mileage Why do you think V8 swaps are so popular? lol. The only ones who don''t usually see a mileage increase are people who make dedicated track vehicles. At the very least, your mileage won''t get any worse, and you''ll have more power.

Well considering I haven''t driven the Blazer in over a year I''m probably doing a bit better than you guys are. My Caddy is my daily driver and she gets me about 22MPG highway if I don''t romp too bad, which I don''t. I recently got my motorcycle license and my husband picked up a Honda Hurricane 1000cc from a friend for doing a restoration on his classic car for him, but unfortunately his bike is about 600 lbs wet weight, and simply standing it up gives me an asthma attack, LOL. I''m in negotiations with a fella to trade my pickup for a smaller sized bike, which will be wonderful, considering my drive to work and back ALONE 5 days a week is roughly $75, which is absolutely killing me in the wallet, especially since I''m the only one working at my house.

My Blazer is myDaily Driver. I changed jobs, I now work 20 miles from home, much better then the 40 miles from home I was commuting. I went from 1.5-2 tanks of gas per week to 3/4 of a tank per week. That''s a pay raise all by itself. Honeslty, I dont really care what gas costs. Sure $4 a gallon sucks, however I can remember when it was twenty-five cents a gallon. Eventualy everything else will go up too, including wages. It''ll be a wash eventually.
