Humiliation... Total Humiliation...

Sterling -> Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 1:24:29 AM)

well... my blazer let me down... big time...

i was over at my friends barn and he has a pond in the back, the water was low and a lot of squishy mud was exposed, so after mowing the grass with him we decided to give the new tires a spin in the mud...

turns out my 4x4 is out, high and low. I was approaching the pond and i was going to skirt the edge of it and just fling mud everywhere, but i hit the slope, and slid, front drivers side wheel in 2 inches of pond water and the rear passenger with no traction.

rear drivers side tire wouldn;t spin, the tire with no traction just flung mud everywhere and didn;t do anything and the front tires did nothing. i was stuck.

none of my friends with trucks/suvs that would be of any help were available and the only things we had were: a 20ft 10,000lb towstrap, 2 30ft thick metal chains, a 75lb anvil and finally a prius.

we threw the chains and the anvil in my trunk right next to the wheel well to help give leverage, lowered my tire pressure from 32psi to 20psi, used the tow strap to hook onto my towhooks and the back of the prius''s frame, and after about 10 minutes of jerking we managed to pull my blazer out of the pond. neither of us had a camera and i wasn;t about to leave my blazer on a slope on the edge of a pond, so no pics are avaible, however i can get pics of the ruts i made in the pond as well as the barn and his prius etc.

im running retreaded BFG a/t kos with bfg M/T treads

So let me get this right. You got pulled out with a hybrid ?

Sterling -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 1:40:15 AM)

yeah haha, couldn;t actually pull me at all, but we figured hey, its a 10,000lb towstrap and he just backed up a good 10-15ft and got a running start and got me out in a good 5-6 jerks

TheBrettster -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 2:45:58 AM)

I wouldn''t share this information would anyone else.

drperry -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 2:51:16 AM)

Probably should get that 4x4 fixed...

At least you weren''t in a fully functional Blazer that got pulled out by a Prius [:D]

swartlkk -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 5:20:52 AM)

Why am I reminded of Jeff Dunham and his Prius bit???  LOL  Now, if what he says is true, what does that make those that get pulled out by a Prius?  LMAO!!  Glad you aren''t too down trodden by it.  On the bright side, you got out and back on the road!  Now get that 4wd fixed!

cliro -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 7:42:58 AM)

lol.. thats all i have to say. lmao

Yooper -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 10:18:20 AM)

Yeah, I wouldn''t really volunteer that info to any other people.  You got pulled out by a Prius?!?!?!?!?!?!  Well, if that isn''t motivation enough to get the 4x4 fixed nothing is.

Sterling -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 10:59:29 AM)

why be down, its hillarious.
getting stuck is because of my own idiocy, and partially the broken 4x4s part, but it makes one hell of a story to tell [:D]

my vacuum hosing is shot to bits most likely, im going though and pulling all the old crap out, the vacuum hosing in my a/c is shot too, im in for a fun day

cliro -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 12:41:44 PM)

they have a barn, but no tractor.... whats up with that.

Sterling -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 4:35:01 PM)

i was trying to edit my post, but it wouldn''t edit, i also wouldn;t double post, so here it goes

they have a Ford 3000 tractor, but neither He or I could get the tractor running. go figure, its a ford. that was our recovery option, and when it came time to pull out my blazer, we were left helpless, the prius was a last ditch effort. we had a winch too, but there was NOTHING in range of the cable that we could hook on to

Paddle_grl -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 6:35:15 PM)

wow......um....wow....all that I belive has just been proved wrong......lets not speak of this again.....

drperry -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/10/2008 11:57:18 PM)

At least he didn''t burn much gas...

Would''ve been kinda fun to watch that Prius bounce around, though [:D]

Sterling -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/11/2008 12:04:54 AM)

i dont think he burned any gas, i think all he used was the electric motor, his battery was WAAY down after

FFJustin99Chevy -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/11/2008 9:14:22 AM)

He didn''t put his hand out the window at any point did he?

......Wouldn''t want the Prius to suddenly turn!!!

LMAO.  Gotta love Jeff Dunham

Tippman7641 -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/11/2008 10:17:01 AM)

as stupid as the prius saving u sounds, the eletric motor is extremely powerful, but had it been using its normal engine it would have probly not had a chance

willjones -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/12/2008 8:54:13 AM)

I don''t even have words for what I just read, and I am really glad that you don''t have any pictures of the Prius pulling you out. I wouldn''t want proof that it happened if I were you, but wheres the pics of those ruts?[;)]

_97Jimmy_ -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/12/2008 10:26:42 AM)

there should be a board you can post these storys in anonymously lol [8D]

redneck2725 -> RE: Humiliation... Total Humiliation... (6/21/2008 9:20:27 PM)

That''s sad but I can''t talk to much. I had my quad buried to the handlebars one day and a guy on a sport quad with a winch had to pull me out. It was pretty sad.
