Hi,
I just bought a 98 Blazer. It''''s a 2 Door and has the wide stance option.
The tie rods on my car look different from the ones my dealer has looked up from my VIN.
Anybody got an idea if this is due to the wide stance package and if so, has part numbers.
The Dealerships here are not familiar with US models....
Greetings from Bavaria and thanks for yor help

Elmar

Interesting.  I''m guess by wide stance you mean ZR2?

Those are definitely not factory tie rods.  Someone has taken some creative liberties with the steering setup on your truck...

The vehicles that are sent overseas or to Europe are actually quite weird compared to what is here , like the ZR2 package has super wide fender flares on the European version compared to the North American version , do you have a pic of the whole truck so we can see it please ?
Does yours have a lift on it ?
The only "wide stance" Blazer is the ZR2 , you should see it in the glove box or if you look up in the fender wells you should see ZR2 stamped in the metal  ...
We really need to see a picture of the truck !

Thanks and Welcome to the forum !!

Zed

Thanks for the answers. That''s what I thougt, the guy I bought it off took out the rear sway bar and as far as I could see (it''s been raining here for a while, no weather to crawl under your truck) put in a TH 700 R 4
So I''ll just go ahead and order a complete steering linkage.
I guess Wide Stance means ZR2. I got a list from GM that says wide stance sport chassis pkg. And no ZR2 stickers at all. It''s on 31" tires stock. As Zed said, the export models differ.
Pictures are coming as soon as the weather clears up.

Just because it doesn''t have the stickers doesn''t mean it isn''t a ZR2 , some years they came with them on , some years they were in a box and you could put them on if you like , some years none at all so the ZR2 stickers mean nothing !
Does yours have fender flares like mine or bigger ? :

Could check the RPO code list.  Either way, I don''t believe that any S-series trucks (ZR2 or otherwise) came with a cobbled up outer tie rod end like what is pictured in the first post.  Agreed?

Here''''s a pic from the front. Looks like they''re about the same width as yours.

Greetings
