I don''''t have a digital camera, but I''''m working on pictures. I cut the top rear half off my 89 2dr blazer last weekend. I followed the widdow line up and out the back. After a while of bending metal and some weather stripping it turned out ok. My neihbors hated my truck because it''''s rusting and there was a rear window missing.  Now people like the truck. The other day I got a pulled over for speeding 45 in a 35, no left blinker, stop sign violation and had expired insurance. The local cop let me off on a warning on all violations, I like to think the truck now has good mojo. I''''ll work on getting pictures posted.

I borrowed a camera. Yeah, there''''s some rust, and some other stuff wrong, but I love my Blazer.

Very nice. A good start to what could be an awsome project truck.

One of the first things I did to the truck, before I thought about cutting the top off, was take the roof rack off, I used Bondo to smooth out the top off the truck and the hood. I was slowly working my way down when my son-in-law slid on some ice and slammed into an interstate median with the drivers side. Everyone was fine and no one else was involved, but it totalled the grill, the front fender and the hood, it also broke out the rear taillight lens and rear side window (had it taped up all winter).  I replaced the hood, fender and taillight the day after. My out-look on the Blazer unfortulately changed. Seeing as how I only paid $600 for it I now look at making the truck strictly off-road within a year or two.

Nice job. I had a 87 jimmy I wanted to do that to. Just didn''t have the money or extra vehicle.
You might think about removing the windows, and have a 1/2 door.(since you are going to make it a strickly off road truck)

Leaving just the windshield is a good idea. I''m not sure, but someone said once that the frame would need to be fortified in spots. I might try it before I put any more money into it, so if it does get twisted or bent, no big deal. I''ll know better next time.
