So about 4 months ago I bought a 2001 Blazer LT in good condition.  The dealer (who is a friend of mine and always done right by me) said that the brakes were relatively new.  About a month or two ago, the brakes started squeaking when I drive, but when I apply the brakes the noise stops.  So I figure I need to change the pads.  I have changed brake pads on my old Saturn before, but never on a Blazer.  Is there anywhere with a step by step guide for changing brake pads and cleaning everything?  I don''t have the money to get it done professionally right now, otherwise I would.

Any help would be really appreciated.

I doubt your brakes went in 4 months.  Usually when your brakes are low they squeak under load...not under normal rotation.  You might have a sticking caliper or something causing a little bit of friction when driving...

First step would be to jack it up and take the wheel off you think is squeaking.  Check the pad thickness...thennnnn decide if you still need a step by step
