I want to build an electric 3-wheeler on a 1984 S10 Blazer frame, removing the entire body and building my own (think 1930''s Morgan racer).

As an intermediate step ''til I can afford the electric parts, could I disconnect the driveshaft, shift the automatic transmission into 4WD, and drive this as a Front Wheel Drive only 2WD?

Yes, I realize I should probably stick my head in a bucket of cold water. Thanks for any suggestions.

If you are going to strip the body from the frame when you do it, what would be the point of having it fwd in the mean time?  Just curious.

you will leak trans fluid all over because the driveshaft "holds" it in.
other than that I dont see a problem with it.
