I dunno...I was going to have my old car's interior painted. I went and asked a shop and they said that it dyes the vinyl so yeah, it would never come off. I did have my carpet color changed from grey to black in it too. It worked and looked great. It never came off like some stories I've heard. I dunno about what brand to get or what-not. I'd go ask a paint shop and see what they use and then go from there...sorry..not much help.

Duplicolor Leather and Vinyl Dye, get it at any Auto Zone with a load of different colors. I recently did a few ( main front dash face,bezel,window/lock panels, and glove box) parts in Rally Red and it looks awsome, contrasting with the black interior. Guarenteed not to chip or fade( thats what the site says ) fairly inexpensive($5.00 a 11oz. can)Spray on, and very easy to use takes little time to do just pulling panels ,cleaning them, then doing layers so ya dont get "the runs" dries in about 1 hour but wont fully sink into the pieces for about 12 hours, after about a week or so its ready to be shined with some Armour All. Hope this helps!

What about sanding so you don't get the texture of the dash, etc.?

you can do that if the texture bothers you, I personally didnt so it came out fine for me, it does take some effort as you would more than likely have to wet sand it. againt its a personal choice as to how you want it to look, only problem is, you sand one part, you might as well do em all to match!

the interior dash and side panels i painted my self and a word of advise..i used komelion paint that was blue to red and in side the vehicle the sun doesnt hit all the time so you are left with a purpleish color so stick with solid colors

Krylon plastic paints works very well, probably the best spray PAINT you can use.

I should point out that it works best on hard plastics (i.e bezels and such)..
