Everyone, this is very important. The idea of a Forum is to be public. The idea behind posting publicly is this: - Current and future members can search and FIND answers to their specific questions.
- Many members have the opportunity to share their collective experience and advice.
- Members can read and learn while the topic moves toward the proper conclusions and hopefully to the problem being solved.
By asking for tech advice through the use of private message, you defeat the principles above and most often, do not get the timely responses you may have hoped for by PM-ing someone. This is a result of often overloading one person and most definitely the result of only opening up discussion with one person, dealing with their schedule. If you have a question, please post it in the proper section. If you are approached for help via PM, please simply link the member to this NOTICE. Please do not take being directed to this thread as a slap in the face. Everyone here wants to help. The information needs to be public. In conjunction with Guidelines for posting Mechanical Problem Threads and Spelling, punctuation, and grammar, you should find that your questions are answered much more quickly! Thanks for your understanding and cooperation!
