I have searched and searched and can''t seem to find the answer to my question. I have a 2000 Blazer...my question is this. When the truck is not in 4wd...should the front axle spin? Does this truck have locking hubs? It''s not actively driving the front axle...it''s just that the front axle is always turning...seems that the tires should just turn if it''s in 2wd?? I am confused about this last leg of the front drive system. Thanks!

There is a disconnect in the front axle on the passenger side of the front differential (what the vacuum actuator engages/disengages).  This disconnects the passenger tire from the diff.  When this is disconnected, the driver side tire will just spin the spider gears in the diff, not rotating the front prop shaft (driveshaft between the transfercase and the front diff).
