I have a 96 and im pretty sure its the same as yours.

There is a hole bhind the brake pedal, pull the carpet back and it should fit right thru. you should use a gromet though.

or just whip out the drill....be sure tape the wire around spots that have sharp edges.

drilling through the firewall is the absolute last option you want to try. 99.9% of the time, there is a much better way to go.

no way man, its 99.7% [8|]

antenna grommet on pass side under top edge of carpet.  Can fit a few runs of 1/0 gauge.

i ran wires threw the hole by the brake pedal, and i know there is one on the passenger side.

where does the antenna gromet come out on the engine side of the firewall? how close to the battery, i have a side mount batt, which raises my next question, is there some sort of adapter that i have to purchase to get the best connection possible?

In my 01 the antenna goes into the HVAC housing then through the firewall. Go to the auto parts store and get an extended post. I have one on my side post battery and it fit fine without a problem.
