I''ve been reading the post on the vortec engine. I think mine is a vortec, but people say that vortec ended in 95. Is that right? Mine is a 96 but the manufacture date is 12/95. It says vortec on the air filter cover and on the side of the engine. But what''s the real deal with the vortec and when did they quit getting used and how do you know for sure it''s a vortec. I bought my blazer that got a brand new engine cause the old one blew, so is it still a vortec?
