RE: A/C ACUMULATOR PRESSURE SWITCH REPLACEMENT - 7/6/2008 7:19:03 AM    swartlkk Posts: 12842 Joined: 5/1/2005 From: Waterloo, NY Status: offline No.  Any of the sensors on the back of the compressor require that the system be evacuated, but the low pressure / cycling switch located on or near the accumulator does not require the system be evacuated to change.  It has a check valve that will prohibit the release of the refrigerant from the system. You will want to have a new o-ring if it doesn''t come with the replacement switch.  You will also want some PAG oil to use as a lubricant for the new o-ring.  Once you get the old switch out, clean the sealing surfaces with a clean, lint free cloth. _____________________________ Kyle- The new - '04 Buick Rainier CXL The old - '00 Olds Bravada - Traded 5/30/07 The restoration - 1970 Chevelle (in reply to jhplove737) Post #: 2
